 Tara
Trask, Wall, South Dakota, was named the 2008 Miss
Rodeo South Dakota Lady-In-Waiting on July 4th
during the final performance of the Black Hills
Roundup PRCA Rodeo. Trask won Photogenics, Speech,
Personality, Appearance, and had the High Test
Score. Lacey Cole, Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2007,
presented Tara with her official banner and buckle.
Tricia Luckette, Mitchell, was
named first runner-up, won the coveted horsemanship
award, and was also the high salesperson for the
Official Pageant Program. Amber Del, Nisland, was
second runner-up and Miss Congeniality.
The Junior Miss Rodeo South
Dakota 2007 title was won by Jenna Smeenk, Newell.
Jenna won Photogenics, Speech, and Horsemanship.
First runner-up and Miss Congeniality was Jacque
Lee, Vale. Hayley Smith, Rapid City, won the
Scrapbook division; Gail Schalesky, Faith, was the
Top Junior Salesperson for the Official Pageant
Program. Samantha Lee, Vale, won the Spirit Award.
Outgoing Junior Miss Rodeo South
Dakota, Jenny Wilk, Huron crowned Smeenk, and she
will reign from now until next July. Trask will
officially be crowned Miss Rodeo SOuth Dakota in
January of 2008. Her coronation date will be
announced at a later time.
