Tara Trask - Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2008

Tara Trask has two passions in life - patriotism and rodeo. So, it is only fitting that her crowning achievement
so far was winning the 2008 Miss Rodeo South Dakota title during
the Miss Rodeo South Dakota Pageant held in conjunction with the
Black Hills Round-up in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, over the
4th of July.
Tara grew up on her family's performance quarter
horse ranch in Wall, South Dakota where she has spent her life
raising, training, and competing on horseback. The daughter of
Tracy and Marlie Trask, Tara's equestrian background began
during childhood through brandings, play-days, and 4-H. She was
involved with her local FFA chapter and high school rodeo. Tara
participated in barrel racing, pole bending, and was a tree-time
South Dakota High School Rodeo Queen.
As a past SD Girls State Governor, South Dakota
State University (SDSU) Student Ambassador to Warsaw, Poland
Agricultural University, and listed in the National Scholars
Honor Society, Tara has been very active throughout high school
and college. In May of 2008, she will graduate from SDSU with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communications with a minor
in Advertising. In the future, she plans to work in broadcasting
or public relations.
In addition to rodeo and riding, Tara enjoys
singing, dancing, announcing rodeos, public speaking, listening
to country music, politics, and being with friends and family.
She is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and
Friends of Rodeo Organization.
During her reign as MRSD 2008, she plans to
promote Kids Voting South Dakota and the history of South
Dakota's official state sport - rodeo. The platform will be
implemented through her visits to schools.
A proud South Dakota cowgirl, Tara hopes her
passions for rodeo and patriotism will leave a lasting
impression on everyone she comes in contact with about
professional rodeo. She is truly honored to be Miss Rodeo South
Dakota 2008.
